National Newborn Care Week 2025 was observed from 15–21 November at IGMC Shimla, Dr. Y.S. Parmar Hospital, Nahan and adopted villages around Baru Sahib by Akal Charitable Hospital & Akal College of Nursing faculty and students. With the theme “Newborn Safety: Every touch, Every time, Every Baby,” the programme emphasized essential newborn care, breastfeeding, weaning, minor ailments, and maternal mental health. B.Sc. Nursing students actively participated through demonstrations, discussions, and awareness activities. The sessions helped mothers understand safe newborn practices, early danger signs, and proper breastfeeding techniques. The initiative successfully strengthened community awareness and highlighted the importance of providing safe, nurturing care to every newborn
